The Fort Oglethorpe Mayor Pro Tem, Paula Stinnett, says that the event represents multiple groups of service men and women.

“It has been a wonderful opportunity to respect those who serve. Beginning of course with our military and extending out to everyone who provides service teachers, our police, our fire, our ems, all those who serve. That’s exactly what this park is about. It was created to celebrate and honor those who serve”, adds Stinnett.
