CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF)- A former homeless man is now a former car less man due to a kind act by a woman and a Christian organization.
Jeff Willard use to be homeless and was given a new car by Chattanooga Rescue Mission and staff member Rose Berry.
“This is awesome. This is going to allow me to get a better job better future. It’s going to allow me to do more with my life,” said Willard.
Willard said it’s been a long road to get here.
“A very good friend for me on the side of the road about dead. I was strung out on math and heroin. Spent nine months after meeting them still strong out on it but things happen and my life changed. God changed everything about me,” said Willard.
He said with the help of God, he was able to turn his life around and get a home. Willard still didn’t have a car, however as he had a bike everywhere.
But that all changed when Rosa Berry was given a new car through a local church and her former car is now Willard’s new car.
“When I found out the Lord was going to present me with a new vehicle that was just above and beyond what I could’ve ever thought or asked. And turn around and be able to share a blessing with somebody else the same small,” said Berry.
Preaching minister Jack Dyer said it’s incredible to see one good deed followed by another good deed.
“We’ve seen that it spreads and it spreads and spreads it’s like a snowball it just keeps going,” said Dyer.
Willard said his first drive will probably be to church and he hopes to not have to go alone.
“Hopefully, I can pick some people up and give them a ride. Bring them with me. That’s mainly what I wanna do,” said Willard.
