Family Pet Dies after Fire on Line Street in Chattanooga

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a fire on Line Street Tuesday afternoon. The call came in at 1 p.m. Many reported seeing flames coming out of the windows of the structure.

Officials report Engine 5 and Ladder 5 were the first on the scene. Crews were able to get the blaze under control quickly. While searching through the burning home, firefighters found a small dog. They tried to save the family pet but sadly the dog died.

No one else was home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
