CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee – This year’s Nooga SportsCon saw higher than expected turnout and featured 50 vendors.
Promoter Robert Sciulli said an incredible additional was able to have a JSA, a signature authentication company, on-site to authorize athletes’ signatures.
He said the last year in the sports memorabilia industry has reached a new level, which is both good and bad for him.
“I’m a collector and hobby first. Unfortunately, it’s made prices higher than what meets a lot of the budgets. Having said that as a shop owner, it’s more than I expected. I was expecting a downturn in the surge is Ben, I’ve had the store since the 80’s and I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Sciulli.
One of the signatures being inspected by JSA was Babe Ruth’s. However, turns out it wasn’t real.
