Chattanooga, Tn (WDEF) – A neighbor helped a resident escape out the back door of a burning home early Monday morning. The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to the fire at the 900 block of Hixson Pike shortly after 5 a.m. Crews found the front porch of the house fully engulfed in flames and spreading.
Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control after it had spread into the attic. The home sustained extensive damage.
The resident and two dogs escaped without injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
