Today is the start of Severe Weather Awareness Week in Tennessee. Hamilton County Emergency Management is reminding residents to ‘Be Aware and Be Prepared.’ Know the difference between a watch and a warning. Have multiple ways to get severe weather alerts. And, prepare and practice your severe weather plan. Last Easter Sunday was devasting for Hamilton County with an E-F three tornado.
Amy Maxwell with HCEMS says, “We have sustained all kinds of severe weather in the Chattanooga area. SO, it always important to make sure that we remind folks, if you have an emergency plan, look over it.”
Hamilton County Emergency Management has resources to prepare residents for the upcoming severe weather season.
