Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Silverdale Baptist Church raised over $32,000 to donate to four local nonprofits. Silverdale had asked its congregation to give a special gift during Christmas Eve to benefit their local mission partners. Those nonprofits included The Bethlehem Center, Chattanooga Community Kitchen, Chattanooga Rescue Mission, and Hope for the Inner City. Each nonprofit was presented with a check today for over $8,000. Silverdale Baptist Church says their mission exists to serve the Lord and the community.

Jens Christensen, Chattanooga Community Kitchen says, “Shutting down was never an option for us, because people we served had no where else to go so March and April, we had more people than we knew what to do with. Because of support like yours (Silverdale Baptist Church), we were able to never miss a meal.”
