Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy struck by car

BIRCHWOOD, Tenn. (WDEF)- A Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputy was injured this morning while investigating a suspicious vehicle.

According to the Sheriff’s office, the deputy was approaching the vehicle when the driver took off and struck the deputy.

The incident happened near the 13900 block of Pierce Road.

The deputy has non-life threatening injuries.

The Sheriff’s office is investigating the incident and has not released a description of the vehicle.
