This is the third year that they partnered with several community organizations to give away school supplies, groceries and other essential items for both students and their families.

Reginald Yearby, from Reachone Teachone says, “It is very important right now during the pandemic because a lot of people are unemployed. So, they don’t have time to go out and get the necessary supplies that’s needed for the kids to be successful in the schools.”

Joe Jenkins , of The Brave Effect says, “We got multiple organizations that’s coming together and we’re doing what we can in order to get the youth with the proper things that they need for school. And, it’s another opportunity for us as organizations to come together and understand we’re in this together and we’re for our communities and we’re just assisting them in the best way possible trying to make sure that they have all of the proper resources.”

The second back to school drive was hosted by Crown Full of Locs.

The women partnered with small businesses throughout the community to supply kids in the Chattanooga area with backpacks and other items that they may need.

Bia Hunt, says, “In Chattanooga right now, we are faced with hard decisions, whether to send your child back to school virtual or at home learning or you know whatever it may be. It’s tough for parents all together right now and so, I just wanted to do something fun and have them come out and enjoy themselves.”

Crown full of locs plans on hosting another back to school drive next year.
