Woman killed, man hospitalized in overnight shooting in Athens


Athens, TN (WDEF) – One woman was killed and one man hospitalized after being shot at an Athens apartment complex early Tuesday morning.

This morning around 12:15 a.m. the Athens Police Department responded to the Clem Jones Housing Complex on Walker Street for a shots fired call.

They found Tremon Hall and a woman with gunshot wounds.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her identity won’t be released until next of kin are notified.

Tremon Hall was transported to a local hospital.

His condition is unknown at this time.

Police are looking for two males wearing dark clothes and driving a newer model Dodge truck.

This is an active investigation.
