CHATTANOOGA, Tenn (WDEF) – It’s been almost 2 weeks since spring break.
That means that classes are picking back up for many students in our area.
With school being so different right now, learning can be stressful for both the student and the parent.
So here are some teacher approved ways to help children learn while still having fun.
Some people may not have a lot of games around but most have a deck of cards in the house or can even make them by printing them out.
Did you know card games are not only fun but can also be educational?
Card games teach strategy, as well as math and reading skills.
Some games like Go fish teach strategy and critical thinking.
The game of Battle helps children learn how to compare number amounts and how to think quickly.
The game of Concentration challenges student’s memory skills.
According to teachers, cards can also be used to teach specific math skills such as turning up two random cards, and having kids add or subtract them and write the answer.
Older students can do this same thing but multiply the two numbers instead.
These are just a few of those classic card games that can help students have fun while learning at the same time!
