CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – As just about every jurisdiction today officially declared a state of emergency over the Coronovirus, more businesses are closing.
But for how long?
We got a lot of new guidance today, but some of it is conflicting.
President Trump announced at a press conference that he wants to reopen the country for business in weeks, not months.
“We have to open our country because that causes problems that, in my opinion, could be far bigger problems.”
In Tennessee, Gov. Bill Lee was asked by reporters about the school year.
Some state’s have already called it off, but Gov. Lee isn’t ready to go that far just yet.
He says his office will make an announcement in the next couple of days over how long to extend class cancellations.
But he’s not read to end the year just yet.
Mayor Berke issued another executive order on Monday closing down more non-essential businesses. His order is open ended, meaning the closings are until further notice.
But maybe Dolly really knows best.
The operators of Dollywood today officially delaying their opening today and suspended operations of Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa. (cabins remains open)
However, they anticipate re-opening in May.
