CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Russell Gilbert officially made his announcement that he is running to be Chattanooga’s next mayor in 2020.
Today at the City Council building he held a press conference open to the public.
Gilbert’s speech focused on his up bringing here in Chattanooga and his overall experience with public policy and finances.
His speech also acknowledged the discrepancy in unfair pay.
Gilbert believes Chattanooga should continue to provide resources for young people. “Millennial we need to provide programs and also resources for them so they can stay in Chattanooga because they’re leaving. We got to have something to encourage them to stay. Lets bring them to the table and listen to what they say.”
Gilbert will wait to introduce plans and initiatives in the next few months.
