CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Each Thanksgiving week, Chief Meteorologist Patrick Core offers his look into the coming winter season.
And this year, he has higher hopes for a big snow.
Here is the breakdown (see the video for Patrick’s full explanation).
First, the temperature.
January is typically our coldest month, the only one where the lows average under 30 degrees.
Patrick sees this winter’s temperatures to be about normal.
As for precipitation, January is also our wettest and snowiest month.
Patrick says we should see above average precipitation this winter. And that means more close calls or possible snows this time.
So here is the forecast. (Remember, it is for the entire viewing area, not just downtown Chattanooga)
