CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Cleveland fire Department has received several calls, and messages for requests to fill up family pools.
The department says it has never filled up pools before, and doesn’t know why people are now asking them to do this.
The Fire Chief says they use that water for emergency purposes only.
“Somebody has to pay for the water, you know if we aren’t using the water for a fire of fire hydrant then somebody has to pay for it. Utilities appreciates it, for us to just go up and fill a pool utilities is gonna look at us and frown on us as an organization.”
The Cleveland Fire Department says if you need your pool filled, it’s best to contact your utility provider and they can help you find a safe alternative.
