The Salvation Army wants your help this holiday weekend,

They are kicking off their “Beat The Heat” campaign early this year.

They’ve set up a hydration station at the Day Center at 800 McCallie Avenue.

It’s for people in need of a cool drink of water.

It will be open from 9-to-5 every day that the temperature is higher than 90 degrees.

Marketing Director Kimberly George tells us “With the Beat The Heat campaign, we are asking folks from the community to donate new box fans and cases of bottled water, or monetary donations, to help offset high utility bills that we know we’re going to see. Right now, we are completely out of fans. We have folks calling us every day needing relief from these hot temperatures, and we’re not able to give it to them.”

You can give your donations to the Salvation Army in person, or online.
