DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Hannah Henderson entered a guilty plea on Tuesday for the murder of her father last fall in Whitfield County.
She gets a life sentence, but the 26 year old will be eligible for parole in 30 years.
Henderson called 911 last October saying she had just shot George Henderson after catching him molesting her one year old son.
But detectives say her story didn’t match the facts… like the shooting happened on the opposite side of the house from the boy’s bedroom. And there was an actual delay from the alleged touching incident and the shooting.
Eventually, her story began to shift more towards self defense and away from the molestation accusation.
Finally, today she included this statement in her plea, recanting the accusation entirely.
“It was a lie then and it is a lie now.”
Henderson added that her father never did anything like that or anything to deserve what she did to him.
She didn’t offer an explanation on why she did it, other than she is an addict (meth was found at the home when she was arrested).
In fact, she had a history of drug problems. And her father had just taken her and her son back into his home trying to help her out.
He had provided her with a car and set her up with a food truck to earn a living.
