Howard Loses Heart Breaker to East Nashville

The Howard basketball team fell 78-75 to East Nashville in the quarterfinals of the state tournament on Wednesday in Murfreesboro. The Hustlin’ Tigers were down ten going to the fourth quarter, but they kept Hustlin’. Dewayne Lawry hit a three with 15 seconds left to pull Howard within one. Howard trailed 78-75 with three seconds left when they had to go the length of the floor to try and tie the game. Lawry got the ball in the corner, and even though he made the three pointer, the shot came after the horn sounded.  Lawry scored 14 points, while Kerrick Thorne led the Hustlin’ Tigers with 17 points. Howard finished the year with a 25-9 record.
