CCS Opens Softball Season With 8-7 Win Over GPS

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Chattanooga Christian got a run in their final at-bat to beat GPS 8-7 in their season opener Wednesday at CCS. The game was tied at three going to the bottom of the fourth when the Chargers scored four times. The Bruisers chipped away at the lead, eventually tying the game at seven on a two RBI base hit from Ansley Blevins in the top of the sixth. The Chargers got the winning run on a bunt from Emily Day. The Bruisers could not connect on the throw to first to get Day. Ball got away, and Lauren Day scored from second to give CCS the 8-7 victory.
