CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Howard High school went from having no drama department, to a showcase of student talent.
It’s been a quick transformation on campus.
But it hasn’t happened without a lot of hard work.
Theatre teacher John Lennon says the school is just getting started.
“We are going to do a musical review in the spring. And, that’s going to be probably 30 times hotter than what we are doing. However, once you learn the foundation you can expand on it. So we are ready to go.”
Before that musical review, students recently showed off some of their acting skills.
Diamond McKinley is a Senior at the Howard School.
“I was nervous. And then I was like, I was like nervous and he said even though you’re nervous don’t show it. So, I was nervous.”
Annteria Evans is a Sophomore on campus.
“It’s very fun though. And when you get up there and after you get all of the applause, like wow.”
Drama students at Howard say they are ready to show the community they know how to do a show.
