Cleveland Police confirm animal abuse suspect shoots himself


UPDATE: Cleveland Police now confirm that the shooting victim was Stephen Kinder.  He died from a self-inflicted gunshot.  Kinder was the center of animal abuse investigations at his Dog Training facility in Cleveland.  His body was found near the business.

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) — Cleveland Police are investigating a shooting.

According to police, it happened Thursday afternoon on James Asbury Drive.

Police say the person was transported to a hospital.

Investigators will not identify the victim or comment on who is involved at this time.

They have just held a press conference and won’t confirm the condition of the victim, just that they were taken to a hospital.

A Cleveland Police Department mobile command unit was sent to the scene.
