CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Friends of the Festival have confirmed that the next Riverbend will look much different.

It will be just four days long and will move up a couple of weeks.

That puts Riverbend 2019 at (Wed.) May 29- (Sat) June 1, the weekend after Memorial Day and before CMA fest & Bonnaroo.

Director Chip Baker also confirmed that Keith Urban will headline the Friday night show.  The rest of the acts will be announced in a few weeks.

AC Entertainment (who books for the Tivoli & Moon River Festival) & Live Nation will take over booking for Coca Cola stage acts.

They are condensing the number of stages to four from five last year.

The format will be 2 shows a piece on each of the three side stages, beginning around 6PM, followed by the main act at 9:30 on the Coke stage.  There are no midnight shows.

The festival will also get a new entrance.

Director Chip Baker says “When you walk into Riverbend you will really feel the difference.”

Plus a ferris wheel running throughout the festival.

Tokens are out, to be replaced by a digital wristband that you can pre-load with funds to buy items.

They do say that prices will go up. This afternoon they posted Ticket Tier prices ranging from $60- $80, but haven’t explained the difference in Tiers.  Also there are more expensive premium seats and packages.

One of the casualties of the new schedule is Faith & Family Night, which will not be returning.

Riverbend officials expect the changes will have an impact on the city’s economy, pulling in in music lovers from a larger radius.

“We expect the enhanced Riverbend Festival to garner great attention for Chattanooga and showcase the Scenic City to an entirely new group of visitors who are willing to travel for great music and a festival experience like no other.”
