The main part of the aircraft fuselage has now been lifted out of the river.
SODDY-DAISY, Tennessee (WDEF) – Now that the plane has been found in the Tennessee River and the bodies of the two victims recovered, Hamilton County officials outlined what is next for them in the case.
The still must remove the plane from the Tennessee River.
It is now 35 feet below water.
While they will oversee the salvage operation, a private contractor will actually lift the plane out of the water.
It will then be placed on a barge and moved to a secure location.
The other job for Hamilton County officials is gathering more evidence on what happened.
They will turn that evidence over to investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board.
