SODDY DAISY, Tennessee (WDEF) – Hamilton County officials report they have found debris from a plane crash in the Tennessee River.
A neighbor called 911 at 1:48 PM saying that they saw a small plane crash into the water north of Soddy Daisy.
Rescue boats found debris from the crash about an hour later near Hobo Bluff.
They have no idea who was onboard but there are no signs of survivors at this point.
Officials say both the water and wind are strong now, and have now pulled them off the river.
“The Water is very rough right now” says Amy Maxwell with Hamilton County.
Divers are standing by, but it is too dangerous for them to go in now.
The Sale Creek & Dallas Bay VFD rescue teams plus STARS assisted in the rescue effort.
Officials say it is a single engine plane.
They believe they can see the fuselage in the water.
