CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – On his second day on the job, the interim president of the University of Tennessee visited UTC.
Randy Boyd says it is important to show he supports and champions all of the campuses in the system.
He says one of his goals is to put students first and make sure they are successful.
Boyd called UTC a producer of talent in the region that adds businesses to the area because of the graduates.
He first met with faculty member and deans in the morning, but was most looking forward to talking to students in the afternoon.
“Probably my highlight will be the time I get to spend with the students because at the end of the day that is why we are here and asking them how we can serve them better is the most imprtant question we can ask.”
Boyd says the search for a permanent president will start in 2020.
