UPDATE: Armed man barricaded in apartment after shot fired, police say

DALTON, Ga (WDEF) – Dalton Police say the armed man who barricaded himself in his apartment has now been arrested.

According to Dalton Police, the Georgia State Patrol SWAT team fired tear gas into the apartment where David Arnado Keefe had barricaded himself.

Police say eventually Keefe came out the front door with his hands up to surrender to officers.

Dalton Police say he is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and cruelty to children in the first degree for committing domestic violence in the presence of the victim’s children. Dalton Police also say further charges are possible.

DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) – Dalton Police say a man has barricaded himself into his home with a gun on Richards Street.

According to Police, it began as a domestic violence incident when the man got into a fight with his girlfriend and fired a shot.

Dalton Police say the girlfriend escaped unharmed to a neighbors home and called police.

Dalton Police have identified the man as 23-year-old David Arnando Keefe.

The Georgia State Patrol’s SWAT team is en route to the scene, according to police. Dalton Police are on scene around the apartment building
