CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police arrested a suspect in the shooting of a 4-year-old child and a woman.
Maurice Thurman Jr., 18, is charged with two counts of attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
On Tuesday night, police responded to a shooting on Foust Street. When they arrived they found the child and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
After the incident, investigators interviewed witnesses and collected evidence. They say public safety cameras at the Real Time Intelligence Center played a key part in finding the suspect and the car he was driving at the time of the shooting.
