Pedestrian Struck Investigation causes traffic delays near Shallowford Road

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police are investigating what led to a pedestrian being struck on Highway 153.

It happened between Jersey Pike and Shallowford Rd.

The investigation caused the roadway to be shut down to only one lane.

Police urged driver to seek alternate routes.

The road reopened just before 6 pm.

Chattanooga Police say they responded around 2:15 pm. Officers say they found a male in the grass median, “out of view from passing vehicles”.

The Traffic Division investigators responded to the scene and determined a possible vehicle crash involving the pedestrian has occurred at this location.

Police haven’t identified the victim at this time.
