UPDATE: Sheriff’s Office identifies suspect in Monday night stabbing incident

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has released more information on Monday night’s stabbing incident on Dallas Daisy Road.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office identifies the suspect as Richard Thomas Demerritt and the victim as Christopher Teeters.

Demerritt  is charged with aggravated assault, according to the sheriff’s office.

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a stabbing Monday night.

It happened in the 8000 block of Daisy Dallas Road just before 10 p.m.

The sheriff’s office says two male parties had reportedly gotten into an argument that led to one of the men stabbing the other.

The suspect then took off into the woods.

K-9 Deputy Tynne, a trained tracking canine, located the suspect in the woods.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident by authorities.

The injured party was transported to a local hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

This incident remains under investigation and no names are being released at this time.
