CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A former daycare worker accused of abusing children made a brief appearance in court.

But her hearing was postponed so lawyers could have time to review surveillance video.

Aukeera Tellis is accused of abusing two children at First Step Daycare.

She faces two counts of aggravated child abuse.

A police report states, in one of the cases Tellis slammed a boy’s head on a sleeping cart.

Tamara Fowlkes is the mother of the alleged victim.

Fowlkes says it was difficult to be in court today, but she will follow the case all of the way through.

“It didn’t only happen to my child. It happened to her child Cayden. We both are feeling the same pain and we both want justice. No one deserves this unfair treatment we are here to speak up for our babies and get justice.”

Tellis’ hearing was rescheduled for June 5th.
