It included a 2.5% salary increase for teachers and $1.9 million for security improvements, and 6 to 8 new resource officers.

Another big item is new technology.

Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson told us “we anticipate an additional 7 thousand devices coming into the system. Specifically our middle schools, grades 6, 7 and 8, every student will have access to a laptop over the course of this upcoming school year. There will be an influx of technology at the elementary and at the high school level as well.”

The Hamilton county Commission will vote on the final budget in June.
