UPDATE: Police investigating shooting in Alton Park neighborhood
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police have released more information on the homicide Sunday evening on West 38th Street.
Police say they arrived on scene to find the victim, 19-year-old D’Kobe Jordan, lying in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.
Chattanooga Police say their investigation has determined the victim was armed with a handgun and was threatening another male when a gun carry permit holder saw the threatening behavior.
Police say the gun carry permit holder intervened to protect the male being threatened.
According to police, witnesses cooperated with the investigation.
The Violent Crimes Bureau is actively investigating and ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call the Homicide Tip Line at (423) 643-5100 or submit a tip through the Chattanooga PD Mobile app.
