Diane Black promises to address mental illness in school safety debate


CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Representative and gubernatorial candidate Diane Black was in the scenic city today.

As the conversation about keeping schools safe continues to rage, Black said she believes that it is important that we focus on the right thing.

“When we look at school safety we need to look at a number of different issues and one of those is making sure that we are addressing the right problem and I believe that is mental illness and until we really address that we are probably not going to solve the problem.”

Representative Black spoke to several groups today, including the Pachyderm club.
