CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Erlanger Health Systems reports that we may have finally turned the corner on this year’s flu season.
Flu-like illnesses have dropped from 226 in the last week of January to 184 last week.
But we’re certainly not out of the woods yet.
While the number is lower, Erlanger officials point out they are still much higher than the same time over the last two years.
They compare this year’s flu season to 2014-15.
From October to mid-February they reported 1,148 cases.
Over the same period this year, they have 30 more cases.
Medical officials say it still isn’t too late to get a flu vaccine, since the season could last until May.
