One Killed, One Injured in McMinn Co. Wreck


MCMINN COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — One person was killed and another hurt in a two-car crash in McMinn County Monday afternoon.

Lt. John Harmon of the Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the person killed as 91-year-old Jerry Freeman.

A vehicle, driven by 65-year-old Edward Mitchell of Madisonville, came around a curve, over-corrected and hit the car Freeman was in head-on.

Mitchell was airlifted from the scene.

His condition is not known.
