TRENTON, Ga. (WDEF) — The Dade County Sheriff’s Office arrests a suspect after a vehicle is stolen in Bledsoe County and pursued across Hamilton County.

Officials say the truck was stolen out of Bledsoe County.

The Dade County Sheriff’s Office says no Dade County units were in the area of the pursuit when the Tennessee units ended their pursuit at the state line.

About an hour later, officials say a Dade County Lieutenant found a vehicle in his yard on Brow Road with the motor turning over but not cranking.

The Lieutenant identified himself, but the suspect ignored him and eventually fled on foot toward Cagle Road, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say when deputies arrived at the Lieutenant’s house, they were unable to track down the suspect but did determined the vehicle was the same stolen truck from Bledsoe County that had been pursued by Hamilton County earlier.

The Sheriff’s Office says deputies were able to identify the suspect from  documents that were left in the truck as Aaron J Marshall of Huntsville, Alabama.

On Sunday night around 6:00 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office located the suspect behind the Huddle House in Trenton.

According to the Dade County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect told officials he jumped of the bluff on Saturday night to evade deputies.

Authorities say he suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of that jump.

Marshall is charged with Bringing Stolen Property into the State and Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officer, according to the Dade County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Cross says Dade County EMA Director Alex Case sent out a message to Brow Road area residents advising them of the situation.
