HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – As the disastrous hurricane Harvey winds down in Texas, the need for services increases–and that includes blood products.
Blood Assurance is asking that residents here in the tri-state area come out and donate to fill the need.
There was a steady stream of donors today but more are needed.
Jay Baumgardner said, “We just know that day in and day out this is a high demand. This a high demand job, in a high demand service industry…so we’re asking people to come out and donate…in little extra efforts. This not like we’ve had some disasters in the past in our own area, but we really say if a hundred people came out today additionally, that would be a huge difference for that market in Houston.”
You can walk in to donate at Blood Assurance, but your wait time will be shorter if you make an appointment.
