Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga Mayor Berke’s office and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) are working together to house homeless veterans and their families.
Judge David Campbell Chapter of DAR is providing a kitchen, bath, and cleaning supplies for four homes. All are due for completion this year.
A dedication ceremony will be held on May 26th at 11:00am, where the keys to the first house will be turned over to the new occupants; the family of a blind Army veteran who has been homeless for the past two years.
An open house from 1:30pm until 2:00pm will take place for viewing.
The homes are located at 4000 Veterans Way in Chattanooga, formerly 4005 McDowell Street. For more information on the Daughters of the American Revolution, click www.dar.org, or contact Susan Lindsey at 423-802-5426.
