CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – 40 men and women with a criminal past may soon be working a daily job. The City of Chattanooga, along with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, have joined with Father to the Fatherless to host a job fair for those who have struggled to gain employment.
It’s called “The New Life Career Prep and Job Fair.”
This is the second time the American Job Center has held the event.
The two day event is teaching those with a criminal past, skills like resume writing, how to dress, and how to interview for a job.
Chattanooga’s Public Safety Director, Troy Rogers said “We’ve talked to several employers and we’ve let them know that we need you to come and get our guys a really good look at getting employment.”
Tomorrow, the hopeful job seekers will meet at the American Job Center for interviews for manufacturing and restaurants jobs.
If you missed this opportunity, there will be other chances, because the event is held quarterly.
