Hamilton County, Tenn. (WDEF) — Hamilton County School officials have identified the bus as number 386 on bus number 331’s route and is one of the Durham school buses.
School officials say it was a small electrical fire in the engine, but say it was more smoke than fire.
According to Hamilton County Schools, the bus driver noticed the smoke, pulled over and evacuated the bus.
By the time Hamilton County Schools had another bus on the way to pick up the kids, school officials say parents had already picked up the students.
All children are safe
Hamilton County, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Hamilton County school bus caught fire near the entrance to the Eagle Bluff neighborhood.
It happened shortly before 3:30 pm Wednesday afternoon.
According to Hamilton County officials, it was a small engine fire.
Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department was first to respond.
Hamilton County officials say the firefighters evacuated all the children off the bus.
No injuries have been reported.
