Sequatchie County, Tenn. (WDEF) – Sequatchie County residents are wrapping up 2016 cleaning up debris left behind by last month’s tornado
The rain didn’t keep volunteers from working on storm relief and clean up efforts throughout the day.
They tell News 12 they want to bring “pretty” back to the area, and start the new year off right.
“It feels good inside. I just want to say thank you to all the volunteers for helping, and let everyone have a great New Year,” says Daniel Byrd, a local resident.
“We want to get normal back for some of these folks, for all of these folks really, because just driving by, you see the debris and the destruction, and it’s still raw. It’s still hard to deal with,” adds Kerri Miller, another resident.
Volunteers here plan to have more clean up days in 2017.
