Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) – An Emmy award winning artist from Hixson opens a big installation in the Scenic City this weekend.
It’s called Wayne-O-Rama, after the artist Wayne White.
With help from hundreds of volunteers, White designed these pieces focusing on Chattanooga’s history.
His art features Lookout Mountain with well-known tourist sites Ruby Falls and Rock City.
The display also includes notable Chattanooga figures like WDEF’s Luther Masingill, photographer Olan Mills, and blues singer Bessie Smith.
“It’s just really filled with lots of fun. It’s fine art. I guess also, art that involves an entire community. To me, that’s one of the things I really learned and enjoyed. All the people that have worked on this have just been outstanding,” says Bob Stagner with Wayne-O-Rama.
The installation will be open at the Tenn Arts studio on Rossville Avenue, until next September.
