CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- The city of Chattanooga is looking to expand its diversity of suppliers working with Latino businesses, and engage with Hispanic entrepreneurs.
The Office of Multicultural Affairs along with Chattanooga State, La Paz Chattanooga, and the Coca-Cola Bottling company hosted the workshop in Spanish.
It showed how Latino business owners can connect with opportunities in the Scenic City.
More than 70 people learned about networking, funding, training, and how to build a business plan.
“There is a big percentage of the businesses in the city owned by Latino owners. We feel the need to educate them and give them the resources to better serve their customers and to better participate in the city opportunities,” says Angela Garcia who is a Key Account Manager.
Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher was also there to talk about the resources the police department has to offer.
The organizations plan to host more workshops in the future.
