FORT PAYNE, Alabama (WDEF) – Officials with the National Park Service say that Highway 35 from Little River Falls to Blanche has reopened, but drivers are asked to use their headlights in the area and drive slowly.
Officials say that smoke is still diminishing visibility along the road, and fire vehicles are still in the area. But firefighters have managed the fire line along Alabama Highway 35, allowing it to reopen.
Firefighters have been battling a wildfire in the area. Multiple agencies have been fighting the fire that has consumed over 300 acres in the area around Martha’s Falls and County Road 861, south of Alabama Highway 35.
