Sheriff: Man Arrested for Stealing Ambulance

MARION COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Tracy City man is behind bars, accused of stealing an ambulance from a Chattanooga hospital.

Marion County Sheriff Bo Burnett tells News 12 26-year-old James Seymore was arrested in Monteagle, Sunday.

Burnett says Seymore was a patient at Erlanger Hospital, and took off with an ambulance.

Burnett says authorities chased Seymore along I-24 West, and he eventually crashed near a gated community in Monteagle. They then took him into custody.

The ambulance was not damaged, and is now back in service.

Marion County deputies are charging Seymore with driving with a revoked license.

Burnett says he will also face charges in Hamilton County for theft of over $100,000.
