Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) – Whether there’s a storm-related evacuation or a day so hot people pass out, Hamilton County EMS crews are on-site to help keep everybody safe.
There are two EMS tents where you can stop by in the event of an emergency as well as rescue personnel traveling through the crowds at Riverbend.
On an average night, EMS officials transport four or five people to area hospitals and treat another 20 to 30 or so in the crowds for your normal accident-related scrapes and falls, even blisters caused by new shoes.
Ken Wilkerson serves as Director for Hamilton County EMS. He said, “When you take Riverbend and you put it in the thought process of it becomes a large city, you have thousands of people occupying the size of a few blocks, with the population of a pretty good-sized city, so you bring to Riverbend all the normal medical situations that you have on a daily basis in a city.”
Of course one of the most important medical supplies on a day like Thursday is water.
You can always drop by the EMS tent to get some cold water.
