Hamilton County, TN (WDEF) – The Hamilton Board of Education will meet on Monday, March 7th at 5 p.m. for action on the Superintendent’s contract.
Board Chairman Dr. Jonathan Welch says he will recommend appointing an acting superintendent if a separation agreement is reached on that date.
He suggests appointing someone from in house on the 7th, and talking about potential interim candidates.
Welch says they can then ask anyone the board wants to interview to come to their work session on the 10th.
He says they could then appoint an interim at their next meeting on the 17th along with discussing their next steps.
Welch also pointed out in his emails that he doesn’t speak for the board on this matter; it’s just what he plans to suggest.
He says that based on the limited discussion at their last meeting that he expects there will be a wide range of opinions on candidates and the qualities they’re looking for.
