Chattanooga Woman Arrested After Dispute at Murphy Casino

Murphy, NC (WDEF) – Cherokee County investigators have charged a Chattanooga woman with drug possession after a confrontation at the Murphy Casino.

Early Wednesday morning, Tribal Police reported a domestic dispute between Joni Marie Dugger and her husband.

Apparently, she left the casino in her husband’s car, but wrecked it and then left the scene.

Officers found her behind the National Guard Armory next door.

They also found Hydrocodone, Clonazepam and a small amount of marijuana.

The Tribal Police also charged her with Misdemeanor Larceny and Possession of Stolen Goods.

Sheriff Palmer stated “Again, we partnered with officers from Cherokee Tribal, North Carolina Highway Patrol, and Murphy Police Department to resolve this issue. I want to thank each of the officers and their agencies for their help.”
