Hamilton County Budget Does Not Raise Taxes

Hamilton County leaders are going over their budget for next year.
But that debate won’t increase your taxes.
The budget for fiscal year 2016 totals 664 million dollars.
The Department of Education gets biggest part of that budget.
The Hamilton County School District will get a 6 and a half million dollar increase.
But again, that won’t include a tax hike.
The new budget gets rid of discretionary funding for County Commissioners.
In the past, each Commissioner got 100-thousand dollars to spend on projects.
That’s been eliminated.
