According to Whitfield County jail officials, Sky Mims, 21, of Detroit was charged on Monday for tampering with government property while in custody.
Mims is accused of breaking a sprinkler head in her cell which caused her cell to flood. Mims was reportedly the only person in the cell when it happened. The tampering charge is a felony.
Mims is being held without bond for the alleged murder of Dahyabhai Chaudhari, 37. Chaudhari was a store clerk who was was found dead on the floor with his eyes and mouth duck-taped.
It happened back in March.
Whitfield County Sheriff deputies confiscated a store security camera system where they say they found evidence that linked Mims to the murder.
Once her identity was revealed, there was a statewide manhunt to take her into custody.
Days later, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations tracked her down to a residence in Bartow County where she was arrested and transported back to Whitfield County.
She has maintained her innocence while awaiting her trial.
Mims is due in court next Monday.
